Welcome to Women's Care Group

From our nurse practitioner, Ashley Fajardo,
It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my Women’s Care Group family and my amazing patients. This was a very difficult decision for me as WCG has been my work home for the last 8 years and has seen me through many professional goals and personal experiences. As some of you know, I delivered a 25-week micro-preemie with spina bifida back in November of 2019.  Since then, little Ella has endured nearly every complication you could imagine in her short life, but I am happy to report she is home and doing well. As you can imagine, she requires a significant amount of my time, which is a large reason I have decided to take a step back in my role as a nurse practitioner and resign from Women’s Care Group.
Words cannot express how thankful I am to have been a part of WCG. It has been a privilege to have been a part of this stellar team and care for so many of our patients. I will miss my co-workers and patients, but I know that it is in my best interest, and the best interest of my family, to move in a different direction.  I wish WCG and you all nothing but the best!
Thank you so much,
Ashley Fajardo
4/27/20- UPDATE: Patients will be required to wear masks or face coverings (scarves, bandanas) when entering either of our offices, Oak Lawn or Orland Park. This is in compliance with the new requirement from the State of Illinois. Please bring your own face covering.
Update on COVID-19 (3/16/20)

Due to the evolving precautions and recommendations by the CDC and community health leaders, EFFECTIVE 3/17/2020, no one will be allowed to come with you to your appointment. Some exceptions will be made. We understand this will be an inconvenience. We, at Women’s Care Group, are taking every precaution we can to reduce the likelihood of exposure to COVID-19, however we still need your help and cooperation to reduce this risk. During this time, if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, NO MISSED APPOINTMENT FEES will be assessed. We will work diligently to accommodate appointments being rescheduled.
If you are NOT PREGNANT and have had a cough or fever within the past 3 weeks, we ask that you reschedule your appointment. If you are PREGNANT with these symptoms, please call the office for further instruction.

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate through these uncharted waters together. And as always, keep washing your hands!

3/13/20 – The health and well-being of our patients and staff are of the utmost importance to all of us. We continue to follow the news regarding the coronavirus health issue (COVID-19) as well as the guidance of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
In order to protect our community, patients and staff, from COVID-19 as well as other respiratory viruses, we have taken the following steps:
  • Additional supplies of hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, tissues and face masks are being placed throughout the offices.
  • Our offices are being thoroughly cleaned nightly by our cleaning staff.
  • Staff is being asked, as well, to routinely clean all frequently touched surfaces e.g. doorknobs, desks, countertops, chairs, computer terminals, etc. throughout the day.
  • Information from the CDC is posted in both offices.

What can you do to help prevent infections with COVID-19? As with any respiratory virus, we can all protect ourselves and others by taking every day common sense actions:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and clean your hands with soap and water (or hand sanitizer).
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces at home and work, especially when someone is ill.
  • Stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick.
  • Contact your healthcare provider (Primary Care Doctor) immediately if anyone in your home experiences any of the following symptoms: severe cough, rapid, noisy, difficult, or painful breathing, and dehydration. Please go to a facility that has testing kits. We do NOT have these kits in our offices.
  • Families traveling are advised to refer to the CDC’s Traveler’s Health Notices for the latest guidance and recommendations. Travel to an affected geographic location (CDC Level 1, 2, or 3) should be reported to the school.

While the immediate health risk from COVID-19 remains low, Women’s Care Group will reevaluate the situation as it continues to evolve. We will continue to provide updates as they become available to us. To learn more, visit the CDC website or the Illinois Department of Public Health website.
